Eileen G. Pendagast M.A.
Retired educator, author and clinician died in Greenwich Hospital on Monday, April 27, 2009. A native of Fairfield, Mrs. Pendagast lived most of her adult life in Easton, CT with her late husband Edward L. Pendagast, M.D. and their two children. A widely known and highly regarded expert in family systems, she was the author and editor of numerous book chapters and articles on family therapy. Editor of The Family, a journal jointly published by the Georgetown University Family Center and The Center for Family Learning in Rye Brook, NY, she also designed one of the original psycho-education programs in the country called Family Systems Training, which continues to be used as a model for community programs throughout the country. Her children Eileen Weber and Ted Pendagast, her brother Philip J. Guerin, M.D., grandchildren, nieces, nephews and her friends and colleagues of The Center for Family Learning mourn her passing.
