The Center for Family Learning is a non-profit educational institute granted a permanent charter by the NY State Board of Regents. Established in 1973, it is recognized throughout the country and abroad for its postgraduate education of mental health professionals, its innovative community education programs, professional publications and clinical research in family systems psychiatry. The purpose of this website is to preserve key components of CFL's body of work in one place making them easily accessible to clinicians, students, and researchers in their quest to refine their understanding and methods of clinical intervention with families.
The articles have been carefully chosen from our archives of previously published books, book chapters, and journal articles; some are still in print, others are not. These have been important to the history and development of the Center and the family therapy movement in general, both in their contextual and clinical contributions and continue to be as relevant today as they were over forty years ago.
